When you first get your puppy you'll notice he/she has a lot of energy. Biting is a way they show they are having fun and playing. You must teach your puppy early that biting means the end of playing or he'll grow up thinking he can bite his way through life and really hurt someone or some thing. When your puppy bites you, though it probably doesn't hurt, yelp and show your puppy it hurts when he bites. Soon he'll get the hint and know biting is not a game. |

If you're a new dog owner it's important to not make the common mistake of not giving your dog enough exercise. Many new owners think putting their new dog in the backyard is plenty. Though every dog is different they all require different levels of activity. Make sure you're prepared to walk your dog every day if he or she is a big dog. |
